JOB DESCRIPTION:

Issue termed employee payments. Review direct deposit pre-note file and correct errors. Enter vacation cash in requests and other adjustments through Rapid Data Entry. Ensure proper taxing is taken on special payments, retro, etc. Handle cash payouts and update the employee's earnings record after approval is received, update non-cash awards, stock transactions and other updates to employee's earnings record. Issue W-2C's when necessary. Run various queries and validate information on pay-line is correct prior to final calc and confirmation of on-cycle payroll.
•On a daily basis, process special off-cycle checks which have been approved for immediate payment. Follow all on-cycle procedures for validating appropriate taxing and deduction overrides, validate queries to ensure accuracy, validate payroll & deduction register, calc, confirm, generate check registers and print checks for distribution.
•Work with department authorized representatives such as directors and managers to ensure job and other employee records on PeopleSoft are accurate. Review and validate various reports correcting keying errors from incorrect updating of PeopleSoft employee records. Ensure employees are set up correctly on their local and state tax screens. Update general deductions for managers when company transfers occur. Prepares Correction Request Form attaching all documentation and forward to Payroll Coordinator for entries that require 'Correction Mode.'
•Ensure cross-training efforts with other team members regarding specialized tasks and position accountabilities as assigned by supervisor. Work with other processors/team members to ensure streamlining and consistency of processes. Provide one-on-one training with new hire team member. Prepare and submit payroll procedural documentation as changes occur.
•Handle at least one or two specialized tasks such as reviewing and maintaining tip allocation files or processing monthly and quaterly bonuses.
•Research P&L questions involving payroll transactions and make appropriate journal entries. Respond to Legal and Operational department's requests for wage and hour information.
