Darden’s core purpose is "to nourish and delight everyone we serve.” “Everyone” encompasses our employees, our guests, our shareholders, our business partners, and the communities we serve.
By fostering a diverse workforce, we are able to deliver on our core purpose while creating a vibrant organization. Through relationships with leading diversity focused community organizations, we extend that purpose into the communities where we live and work. Darden teams up with a number of non-profit organizations that have a track record of effectively serving and representing the African American; Asian and Pacific Islander American; Disability; LGBT; and Hispanic communities.
We are proud to work with partners such as HSF to support programs that assist youth to pursue post-secondary education and their career aspirations. In turn, these partnerships help Darden and our restaurants connect with diverse community leaders and guests throughout the country.
This year, the Darden Restaurants, Inc. Foundation and HSF launched a new program to expand scholarship opportunities and academic support for low-income college students. The program benefits 40 students by providing them scholarships and academic support through the first year of college via self-assessment and academic planning tools, support groups, and student advisors.
It’s part of our part of our Recipe for Success™ initiative, which is designed to enable and empower youth to pave their own path to success by providing them access to the tools and information necessary to navigate the process of postsecondary education. Through partnerships such as this with HSF, we’re helping to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
