Students & Graduates

As the premier full-service restaurant company, Darden offers students and graduates the opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop skills.

Darden Students & Graduates

Restaurant Operations

Darden offers students and graduates of Hospitality Management, or a similar field of study, the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a demanding, high volume environment through its restaurant management internships and Manager-in-Training program.

Manager-in-Training (MIT)

New hires in Darden’s MIT program put their hospitality education and previous work experience to great use as they rotate through hourly and management positions in both the front and back of house.  As developing leaders, participants have the opportunity to grow – personally and professionally – every step of the way.
MITs learn about manager’s responsibilities in our kitchens, where our teams hand craft the great dishes our guests love, and in the front of the house, where our teams deliver the type of exceptional service that keeps our guests coming back for more.  The program allows participants to expand and hone their skillsets in the areas of restaurant operations, business management, and leading teams.

Restaurant Management Internships

Restaurant management internships are available at Darden restaurants across the country.  Internships offer a structured, rotational, hands-on experience in all aspects of restaurant operations.  Interns are scheduled 40 hours per week during the multi-week summer program and are paid $12 an hour. Housing and transportation are the responsibility of the intern.

Corporate Careers

For recent or upcoming college graduates, our focus is recruiting for positions that are currently open. Each open position has unique requirements as listed in the job description, including work experience, education, technical skills, and certifications or professional achievements. Typical positions for new college graduates occur in our accounting/finance, marketing and supply chain departments.  We recommend that you apply for a posted position two to three months prior to graduation.

Darden recruits MBA/Graduate students for full time opportunities. We have established relationships with the University of Florida and the National Black MBA Association.  Typically, interviews occur during the fall semester with offers being made prior to graduation.
